This year's 4th conference of the Network for Higher Education Research on the topic of Transition and Transformation in Higher Education took place on July 6 and 7, 2023, at the WU campus. In addition to exciting presentations by keynote speakers

• Prof. Lehmann (Western University, Ontario, Canada) and

• Prof. Miethe (Justus Liebig University Gießen),

• a reflection by the section head of the BMBWF, Dr. Elmar Pichl

and numerous paper sessions followed by feedback, there was also time for researchers to exchange ideas over coffee and cake and at the joint conference dinner at the Schweizerhaus.

In addition to organizational activities, the Education Sciences Group was represented at the conference with three presentations.

• Sabine Weiß presented on the sense of belonging among non-traditional students at Austrian universities.

• The presentation by Christian Gehart and Sebastian Redl was titled "Transition experiences, resilience, and social capital: Effects on the propensity to drop out of university".

• Maria Pöschl presented on the effects of the framework conditions of university fields on student resilience.

Overall, it was a very successful event that facilitated exchange and substantive discussions and contributed to the international networking of higher education research.
