The keynote speech addressed problematic patterns of reception and constructions of foreignness in classical Confucianism (rujia) (I) as well as the general pedagogical significance and connection between language, world, experience, and education (II), ultimately focusing on the importance of encounter in pedagogical and intercultural contexts (III).

The workshop for Chinese teachers took a xenological professionalization perspective, linking the contents of the lecture: "Foreignness – educational problem times two!"
