The 21^st century is characterized by rapid change, which has triggered profound transition and transformation processes in many areas of society. In addition, global crises (health, environmental, political) are accelerating these developments. Two examples of the consequences of this are new migration movements and digitalization in education. All of this has a major impact on the higher education system and the associated institutions and actors.

The conference will therefore focus on those transformation and transition processes that primarily affect higher education institutions but are also linked to changes in society as a whole and the particularly difficult current phase of global development.
