Fonts

WU uses two font systems: a system font and a house font.

System font

WU’s system fonts are used for all documents not produced by professional graphic studios, such as letters, emails, PowerPoint presentations, notices, and Word documents. They are also used for internally produced publications. The system fonts are available in all Office programs.

Headlines: Georgia

Body text: Verdana

Hierarchy of the system font

Headlines appear in Georgia Regular or Bold (depending on the headline weight), set in white on colored or dark backgrounds and in black on white or light backgrounds.

Additional information on covers is placed as a subheadline beneath the headline in Verdana Bold, set in black; it may also be placed above the actual headline.

Additional information (e.g. on posters or ads) may be set in black or white. The font size can be adjusted according to the priority of the information. Use Verdana Bold and Georgia Regular/Bold for emphasis. Ensure adequate line spacing between text segments (e.g. between headline and subheadline). Italics may not be used.

Black headlines must be set at C 40 / M 0 / Y 0 / K 100.

For further details, refer to the CD Manual (available in German only).

House font

House fonts are used for all print materials designed by graphic design studios (e.g. brochures, ads, posters).
