At the end of October, Harald Amberger participated as an expert in the Expert Panel “Reflections on the DiRECT Model and Policy Implications” as part of the DiRECT Policy Workshop of the European Commission in Brussels.

The DiRECT model (Distributional and Revenue Effects of Corporate Taxes) is a microsimulation model developed by the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission. It can be used to estimate corporate tax bases and to simulate the effects of tax reforms on tax revenues and firm-level tax burdens across EU Member States.

Harald Amberger contributed his expertise in accounting and the determination of taxable income, enriching the discussions on the applications of the model and the future design of corporate taxation in the European Union.
