"From Vision to Green Action: Implementing Environmental Sustainability Across Borders"

22. Februar 2024

The CEE CercleWU and the Central Europe Connect program cordially invite you to this panel discussion. Monday, 11 March, 17:30-19:00 Campus WU, Foyer Executive Academy

Introducing sustainability in corporate governance and operating processes is a tremendous management challenge, particularly for manufacturers of physical products. Production processes, supply chains, marketing strategies and product usage have to be assessed and compared with “greener” alternatives. Building sustainability into operations needs changes in ambitions, corporate governance, organizational culture and business processes. Depending on the type of business, companies are affected in different ways: be it the sourcing of appropriate raw materials, use of clean energy, biodiversity degradation, air and water pollution or recycling. Multinational firms are often regarded as pioneers which take proactive steps to reduce their environmental footprint, strive for net zero GHG emissions and transfer effective sustainable practices within their corporate group.

The aim of this panel is to discuss the integration of sustainability into strategy and operations, the dilemmas in the implementation and the role of multinational firms in the creation of awareness and dissemination of best environmental practices in foreign operations.

The following speakers will share their views on the topic with us:

  • Theres Bertsch, Sustainability Manager Europe, Henkel Consumer Brands

  • Mathias Nell, MBA, Head Sustainability, Salesianer Miettex

  • Rainer Widmar, Managing Director Central and Eastern Europe, ALPLA
