Peter Knaus Awarded Erwin Schrödinger Fellowship for Research Visit to Harvard University

15. April 2024

We're excited to share that Peter Knaus, a recent PhD graduate from the Institute for Statistics and Mathematics, has been granted the prestigious Erwin Schrödinger Fellowship by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF). This fellowship will support Peter's one-year visit to the Department of Statistics at Harvard University as a visiting scholar.

During his time at Harvard, Peter will focus on researching how shrinkage can be applied in high-dimensional Gaussian process regression. The aim is to develop flexible models that maintain  a high degree of interpretability, while simultaneously allowing for the fully Bayesian estimation of such models when faced with large volumes of data.

For more information about the Erwin Schrödinger Fellowship and other opportunities offered by the FWF, please visit https://www.fwf.ac.at/en/.

Congratulations!
