Anna Walter-Dockx

Anna Walter-Dockx is a Behavioral Economist and Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Institute for Marketing Management. She holds a PhD with honors in Economic and Social Sciences from the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU) and a cum laude M.Sc. in Human Decision Science from Maastricht University. She previously worked as a consultant at Austria’s Behavioral Insights Unit and was a postdoctoral fellow of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW). She has several years of teaching experience, including as a lecturer at the Institute for Cognition and Behavior (WU Vienna) and FH des BFI Vienna, and as a regular guest lecturer.

Her research focuses on behavioral interventions and experimental methods, combining survey, laboratory, and field experiments to study sustainable decision-making, mobility behavior, and gender differences. Her dissertation examines the effectiveness of behavioral policy measures across domains such as teamwork, environmental behavior, and financial decision-making, with an emphasis on the causal identification of underlying mechanisms.

She has contributed to 25+ applied research projects at the intersection of behavioral science and policy. Most recently, she initiated and leads a research project on nudging green food choices in workplace settings, coordinating the project and conducting the empirical analysis. She is lead author on the resulting research outputs.
