Kim Melissa Bär

Kim Melissa Bär is a Research and Teaching Associate who studies strategic decision-making at the intersection of climate strategy and artificial intelligence.

Her research focuses on strategic decision-making under conditions of uncertainty, with particular emphasis on firms’ strategic responses to climate change and the role of artificial intelligence in strategy processes. In her work on climate strategy, she examines how organizations respond to climate-related pressures through incremental versus transformative actions and varying degrees of stakeholder cooperation.

A second stream of her research investigates the use of large language models (LLMs) in strategic decision-making. This includes experimental studies on how different forms of LLM-based feedback (e.g., critical, supportive, or gatekeeping roles) shape managerial judgment, learning, and reliance in complex strategic tasks, as well as conceptual work on integrating LLMs into strategic decision processes.

She teaches Strategy and Innovation at the Bachelor level and Fundamentals of Strategic Management in the SIMC Master program.
