Last week, Katrina Nelson and Anna Maria Mohr from the IOD team participated in the 14th EIASM Workshop on Top Management Teams and Business Research Strategy in Groningen.

As international strategic leadership scholars gathered to discuss “strategic leadership in the face of grand challenges”, we got the chance to learn about the cutting-edge research in the field and present our own research on TMT dynamics and the evolving role of the board chair.

We very much enjoyed the insightful and enriching keynote speeches from Ryan Krause (“SEEKING THE TRUTH OF STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP: QUESTIONS, THEORY, AND DATA”) and Yan Anthea Zhang (“CEO SUCCESSION: NEW PHENOMENA AND NEW QUESTIONS”), giving much food for thought.

Meeting so many brilliant scholars with similar research interests not only sparked fantastic discussions and new ideas but also reinforced our motivation to keep moving the research field forward. We genuinely enjoyed connecting with colleagues, co-authors, and friends, among which are also IOD alumni Maximilian Weis and Philipp Benedikt Becker.
