Research interests

Michael’s research interests lie in the intersection of non-market and global strategy. Michael focuses on how multinational companies (MNCs) use non-market resources in their internationalization decisions and how the non-market environment influences MNC performance. Currently, Michael is particularly interested in how macrostructures influence MNC investments and performance as well as how MNCs deal with the supranational and civil environment. Michael mainly explores his research questions using various types of regression analyses. Lately, Michael has also started using simulation approaches to build theory and AI to develop novel measures for his research.
