Team Puck generates impact through research, teaching, and collaborations. Current research topics include the role of data, methods, and AI in (international) strategy, sustainable internationalization strategies, the influence of politics on globalization and deglobalization, international sport management, or international financial strategies, among others. We regularly publish our research in international top journals, and provide service to international top journals as reviewers, members of editorial boards, and senior editors. Our team members received numerous awards for their research, please find further information on their individual pages. Further information on our focused research on ‘International Growth’ and the ‘Research Initiative Sports and Management’ can be found at the respective pages.

We love to teach at all educational levels and specifically care about the development of our PhD students. Recent dissertations and dissertation proposals from our PhD students have been recognized with multiple global awards, such as the EIBA Best Doctoral Thesis Proposal Award (2017, 2021, 2022), the AIB Award for Best Doctoral Dissertation Proposal (2020), the Academy of Management IM Division Best Dissertation Award (2021), or the Peter J. Buckley and Mark Casson AIB Dissertation Award (2023). In case you are interested in pursuing your PhD with us, do not hesitate to reach out to our senior faculty members.

It is our strong believe that collaborations are key for success. Most of our research output is co-authored with fellow academics from around the world. We organize collaborative events such as international conferences (e.g., EIBA 2016, 2020, WU IB Finance Workshops), youth empowerment opportunities (e.g., WU/UNIDO Youth Solution Days at the Vienna International Energy and Climate Forum), and industry-specific meetings (e.g., the Sports-Business Breakfast). We are also founders of the annual WU Business Case Challenge with the specific intend to support entrepreneurial spirit across different age groups and programs (further information on the respective page). Through our partnerships and research-fundings we have contracted more than 5 million Euro in third-party funds to support our activities.
