VCML SYMPOSIUM: 75 Years of the Refugee Convention

To mark the 75th anniversary of the 1951 Refugee Convention, the Vienna Centre for Migration and Law (VCML), UNHCR Austria and the Research Institute for Migration and Forced Displacement Management (FORM) invite you to a symposium entitled “75 Years of the 1951 Refugee Convention: Human Rights, Effectiveness and Enforcement.”

The event will explore human rights-based and effective refugee protection, focusing on the legal and practical challenges of enforcing international protection standards. The programme includes an opening panel on the human rights dimension and effectiveness of international refugee law, followed by a roundtable bringing together perspectives from legal practice, the judiciary and refugee advocacy.
