Thesis Supervision

Members of the research institute also supervise bachelor's and master' theses on issues of urban management and governance in their respective areas of expertise.

Verena Madner and her team supervise thesis projects of students in all of WU’s three bachelor’s programs, the Bachelor’s Program in Business, Economics and Social Sciences (BaWiSo), the Bachelor’s Program in Business and Economics (BEE) and the Bachelor’s Program in Business Law (BaWiRe).

At master level, thesis projects of students in WU’s Master’s Program in Business Law (MaWiRe) and in the Master’s Program in Socio-Ecological Economics and Policy (SEEP) are supervised at the institute. All thesis topics must necessarily match the research focus of the institute.

Thesis projects which may be supervised by Verena Madner and her team must relate to one or more of the following research areas of the institute:

  • Globalization, international trade and investment protection

  • Governance and sustainability

  • Sustainable urban development

  • Public participation and access to justice

  • Participation, democratization and sustainability

  • Spatial planning and infrastructure law

  • Environmental law, climate and energy law and policy
