Yannic Prohaska joins the Research Institute for Spatial and Real Estate Economics as a research associate. His primary focus at the institute is the project ClimQSEM, in which a quantitative spatial equilibrium model featuring ecological components is developed for the case of Vienna. At the same time, he is enrolled in the PhD programme Economics and Social Sciences at WU. His main research areas include Spatial as well as Urban and Regional Economics, where he is particularly interested in topics such as transport, trade and the left-behindness of regions. Prior to this position, he earned his master’s degree in economics from WU and was employed at the Institute for Advanced Studies (IHS), first as a research assistant and later as a staff scientist working on macroeconomic forecasting.
