• The course consists of eight modules: one introductory module and seven content-related modules.

• You can complete the online part at your own pace. However, we recommend completing two modules per week in order to have enough time for the work on the CaseCast in the later course phase.

• Every module finishes with a quiz or assignment. You have one attempt for each quiz or assignment. The passing score is 60%.

• You receive 3 points for each passed module and 0 points for each failed module. It is not required to pass every module to pass the SIGMA course, but the number of points you achieve in the online part of the course is added to your overall grade. (For details please see grading section below)

• For the quiz assessments in the course, please note that the round icons left of the response options of each question symbolise a single choice question and the square icons indicate that it is a multiple-choice question.

• The mandatory readings for each module are either provided directly on the platform or linked. Papers on publishers' websites can be accessed using your universitiy's network (e.g., wifi or VPN) or if you log in to the university's online library catalog and search for the article. 

• You will be allocated in groups of four and work together with students from other universities

• The group work will be supervised by one of the lecturers from the SIGMA partner institutions, who is assigned to your group

• In frame of the supervision, you will have two pre-scheduled online meetings with your supervisor with mandatory attendance to discuss your progress

• Your supervisor will assess the outcome of your student project with rubrics

• Outcome: powerpoint presentation and written analysis

• Presentation: video format (preferably screencast)

• Schedule regular virtual meetings for which everyone prepares and by which the agreed tasks must be completed. You can use the template for a task list to structure your meetings.

• Nominate one group member to moderate the virtual meetings.

• Create an agenda which you circulate some days before the meeting. Every team member can then add discussion points and prepare for the meeting.

• Schedule two online meetings with your supervisor (at the kick-off) to give an update on the progress of your Casecast and clarify possible questions.

• Agree on deadlines everyone has to/is able to meet.

• Agree on sending notifications when the deadline cannot be met.

• Agree on a way to deal with conflicts, e.g. when members do not stick to the agreements or deadline.

• Use the same citation for in-text references in your presentation in APA format (Author, Date) as in a written essay

• Put reference sources for direct quotations directly on the slide

• Please use only license-free pictures, if possible

• Put a complete table of reference in your analysis

• Include a separate table of references for “image sources”
