Ludwig Wittgenstein's so-called "Remarks on Colour" are frequently described as extremely fragmented and exceptionally difficult to understand, and their significance remains (on the whole) unclear. Furthermore, compared with other aspects of Wittgenstein's philosophy, his thoughts on colour have, to date, received little attention. For this reason, the Philosophy Branch of the WU, the Department of Philosophy of the University of Vienna and the Vienna Forum for Analytic Philosophy will be hosting a conference that aims to substantially advance our understanding of this material, which is without doubt among the most opaque and perplexing of Wittgenstein's writings. The organizers would like to invite everyone interested to attend the conference and participate in the discussions. Registration: Attendance of the conference is free, but registration is requested by e-mail to wittgenstein-on-colour@googlegroups.com
