Political Economy of Public Policy

Political Economy of Public Policy (PEPP) is an interdisciplinary institute whose research and teaching focuses on how political and economic processes co-determine public policy and, vice versa, how public policy shape economic, social and political processes.

Research conducted at PEPP maintains a strong methodological perspective and contributes to the development, application, and evaluation of quantitative and formal research techniques. PEPP scholars are respected members of their international research communities. Recent contributions advance our understanding of natural disasters, public health, environmental policy, climate economics, labor market policy and social science methodology.

PEPP faculty are primarily involved in the BA, MA, and PhD programs of the Department of Socioeconomics, providing a comprehensive approach to public policy and understanding of the political economy.
