Presentation of research project on “Digital Public Health Innovations and the Urban Context” at network meeting

15/10/2021

In June 2021, Tobias Polzer and Selin Öner-Kula were awarded a grant from the “Jubilee Fund of the City of Vienna for WU Vienna” for a research project on “Digital Public Health Innovations and the Urban Context”. This project was now presented at a meeting facilitating the networking among interested officials from the City of Vienna and WU researchers. Looking at the urban context and building on the discussion of “crisis resilient cities”, the project aims to obtain a better understanding of the factors that influence the dissemination, acceptance and use of digital innovations in the area of public health. Empirically, it will be drawing on the examples of the “Stopp Corona” contact tracing app and the “Alles gurgelt” gargle test that have been implemented in Austria during the current COVID-19 pandemic. Further information about the project (in German) can be found here.
