The research contribution published in the WM journal for Association and Nonprofit Management examines the introduction of impact-based management in the area of "Emergency Assistance" of the Caritas of the Archdiocese of Vienna. Instead of the previous focus on services and efficiency, a system is developed that makes the impacts on clients visible and usable for management decisions. The multi-stage implementation process includes the definition of impact goals, the development of indicators, and the pilot phase of implementation, demonstrating how impact-based management can be successfully implemented in a large, heterogeneous organization.
