Bachelor's and Master's theses can be written in the areas of European and international law in particular. A list of possible topics can be found here.

You are also welcome to suggest your own topics.

Interested students can apply for a topic until March 1, 2026. Detailed information on the application process and writing the theses can be found here.

Doctoral Theses

As part of the doctoral program in business law (2009), students must write a thesis and a research proposal and five (two-hour) courses must be completed. The program concludes with the defensio dissertationis.

The five courses are doctoral seminars:

• two doctoral seminars in the dissertation subject,

• one doctoral seminar in another legal subject,

• one doctoral seminar from another subject offered at WU, and

• one doctoral seminar on legal methodology.
