Jan Schmitt receives Stephan Koren Prize and Danubius Young Scientist Award 2022

Jan Schmitt, member of the HiA research team, was awarded with the Stephan Koren Prize and the Danubius Young Scientist Award 2022 for his dissertation “Headquarters on the Move: The Phenomenon of Multinational Corporations’ Headquarters Relocating across Borders”.

As part of the PhD graduation ceremony at WU Vienna, Jan got awarded with the Stephan Koren Prize 2022. This award is granted by WU’s Full Professors’ Association for outstanding dissertations and recognizes those graduates that have contributed to the excellent research reputation of WU Vienna through their dissertations and the entire courses of their studies.

One week later, Jan was invited to the Annual Danube Rectors’ Conference at the University of Maribor in Slovenia and received the Danubius Young Scientist Award 2022. This award is granted by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research in cooperation with the Institute for Danube Region and Central Europe. The award honors the awardees’ achievements in science and research in and for the Danube region.

This is another great recognition after Jan was nominated for the 2022 IM Division D’Amore-McKim School of Business Northeastern University Award for the Best Dissertation in International Management. Jan defended his dissertation under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Phillip C. Nell in November 2021. Congratulations to both of them!
