The Indian Institute of Technology Dehli - Vienna Residency 2024 at the WU Executive Academy


Arnold Schuh taught the course "Business strategies for Europe" that intended to introduce the 40 MBA students into the “spirit of the place”, namely characteristics of the Austrian economy and its firms.

Besides the expansion to CEE and the strategies of so-called regional players like Erste Bank, VIG, Henkel CEE, UNIQA, Mondi and Raiffeisen Bank Int’l. the focus was on Austrian world market leaders and "hidden champions". The visit to Frequentis, the world market leader for safety-critical control centers in the area of air traffic management, public safety and transport, complemented nicely the classroom learning. The vivid discussion with Johann Schweiger, VP Global Sales, centered on the resource challenges of this global niche focused business model, its project character, growth alternatives (organic vs M&A) and the effects of geopolitical tensions on MNCs active in business-to-government markets.
