How do I cancel my course registration?
Participants can drop courses free of charge online or in person up to a week (two weeks days for exams) before the course is scheduled to begin. After this deadline, the course fee cannot be refunded even if the participant does not attend (unless a legal right of withdrawal exists as detailed in our terms and conditions).
What level should I attend?
See our guidelines for course placement. The course level always indicates the level reached at the end of the course. As a beginner, pick level A1.1.
How many people will be in my course?
Minimum group size is 14, maximum group size is 20 persons.
How long does a course last?
Courses of 30 teaching units (45 min each) take place once or twice a week and usually last a half-semester, covering half a level, for instance A1.1. The scheduled time may include a short break.
Who can register?
The courses are open to the public. As courses take place within the library area of WU, a student or a library card is required. External persons are therefore provided with a library card free of charge.
Can WU change or cancel my course?
The WU Business Language Center reserves the right to cancel courses for important reasons, in particular if the minimum number of participants is not reached. The WU Business Language Center also reserves the right to make reasonable and justified scheduling changes (e.g., instructors, classroom; see also full terms and conditions). The WU Business Language Center will inform participants of any such changes in a timely manner. If a course has to be cancelled, any payments already made will be refunded in full.
I would like to register for a course with admission requirements.
You can pre-register on our website. As soon as you have fulfilled the admission requirements (usually a placement test or proof of language skills), we will send you a link for the payment of the course and you can complete the registration.
I can't find my course on LPIS.
Our courses are an additional offer and therefore nor on LPIS nor in VVZ. At the end of the course you receive a certificate stating ECTS credits and grad and credit transfer is done in the Study Service Center. Language courses qualify for transfer as free electives.
The times do not fit my schedule. Can you change them?
Unfortunately we cannot change times and dates of our courses.
Do you offer other courses as well?
At the moment we are only offering courses according to our program. In the future we plan to extend our language courses to further languages and more specialized courses.
