SBWL International Accounting & Controlling

The SBWL combines contents of international accounting and controlling. During the SBWL, students gain a deep understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and their implementation. The SBWL provides students with an international view of the fundamental concepts in managerial accounting and controlling. In addition, it offers valuable practice insights in the most relevant and recent topics in accounting by collaborating with several field experts from the Big 4 auditors as well as experts from other international companies. Depending on their interests, students can choose to specialize in areas such as Non-Financial Accounting, Financial Statement Analysis, International Accounting Research, as well as Corporate Planning and Management.

Career Prospects

The SBWL prepares students for an international career especially in the field of finance, accounting, and controlling. By choosing this major, students can broaden their focus to international companies while benefiting a variety of job-entry opportunities and career prospects.

Possible careers include specialist and managerial positions in:

  • Controlling-, finance- and accounting departments of national and international companies in both the manufacturing and service sector.

  • Consulting

  • Banks, Insurance as well as Investment Funds.
