Franzisca Weder has been appointed to the ORF’s Advisory Board on Environment and Sustainability. Together with other experts, she advises the ORF on matters relating to the environment, sustainability and social resilience.

Andreas Enzminger and Ursula Lutzky joined the event Dialogues for Future at the Bundesgymnasium Vöcklabruck in Upper Austria. The event brought together scholars from a range of different research institutions and universities across Austria to discuss the importance of language and communication in fourteen parallel workshops. Together with students they explored the topic of finance communication, discussing how language use on social media sometimes tempts us into buying a product. They uncovered the role that images, a specific layout and colours may play in this context, and studied how finfluencers try to establish trust and credibility in their video posts. Ngo My Xuan Nguyen and Emina Hrnic helped prepare for the workshop.

On  March 17, Cristiana Dondi took part in the Austrian selection of the science communication competition in French, ‘Ma Thèse en 180 Secondes’- an event co-organised by the Institute Français d’Autriche and WU. During the event, she presented her research on Italian business communication in French. Her work focuses on the question of which communication skills in Italian are currently in demand in a professional context in Austria and should be taught in a higher education context.

On March 25, Franzisca Weder held a keynote speech at the ORF’s Advisory Board on Environment and Sustainability on ‘Sustainability Communication’.
