On January 14, the WU Research Encounters once again brought together WU researchers from various disciplines – this time for a special issue on migration. With a series of 8-minute flash talks, they shed light on the various aspects of migration.From our Department, Nadine Thielemann (Institute for Intercultural Communication) presented her current publication on migrants from the Balkans in Vienna. The focus of her project is to examine how migrants construct their identity both as immigrants and entrepreneurs. A similar topic was presented by Mehmet Ali Icbay (also Institute for Intercultural Communication). His research focuses on highly qualified Turkish immigrants on the Austrian labour market.
