Advances in Cost-of-Capital Regulation

The WU Research Institute for Capital Markets (ISK) organizes the workshop Advances in Cost-of-Capital Regulation, to be held at the WU campus (Vienna, Austria) on December 17, 2026 (9:00–18:00). Presentations will be followed by a discussion and general Q&A. A conference dinner is planned for the evening.

Submission of papers

The workshop will feature a small number of high-quality papers. We welcome both theoretical and empirical contributions. Topics include, but are not limited to:

• Innovations in estimating the cost of capital (e.g., methods, data, implementation in regulated settings)

• Interactions between cost-of-capital regulation and asset prices

• Real effects of cost-of-capital regulation on corporate decisions, in particularcapital expenditures (CAPEX)

• Green Transition and Cost of Capital Regulation

• Geopolitical Risks and Cost of Capital Regulation

Registration and costs

There is no conference fee for presenters, discussants, and academic participants. Participants are expected to cover their own travel and accommodation expenses.
