Infrastructure Projects

In terms of infrastructure projects, SABE has several ongoing streams of activity.

• On July 29, 2027 we convene an international one-day conference, starting with a get-together the evening before. The theme of the conference is ‘workplace antisemitism: facing-combatting-engaging’. 

• SABE under the lead of Johannes Koll has been the initiater and main researcher for the WU Commenorative Project as well as a project focusing on honourary doctorates awared by the WU or its predecessor institution. Like a number of other universities, WU has for some time been investigating the extent to which recipients of academic honours were involved in National Socialism. Whilst the Commemorative Project centres on the victims of Nazi persecution, this project focuses on the perpetrators in the academic field and their supporters.

• SABE is currently in the process of developing an online platform of relevant literature on Antisemitism in Business and Economy. The aim is to make available a comprehensive annotated bibliography that will cover available resources in English, German, French, Hebrew and Polish, and that will be an ongoing updated resource freely available to students and researchers worldwide.

In 2012, WU launched a research project investigating the history of the then University of World Trade at the time of the Anschluss and the NS regime. One of the main objectives of the project is to identify those students who were unable to complete their studies because of their Jewish faith or their opposition to the Nazi regime.
