new Associate Professor - Paul Eisenberg

We are pleased to officially announce that Paul Eisenberg has successfully completed his qualification procedure and will join the Institute of Statistics and Mathematics as an Associate Professor on 1 July 2025.  

Paul holds a diploma and a doctorate degree in Mathematics from Christian Albrechts Universitaet zu Kiel, Germany and a venia docendi in Mathematics for Economics and Business from WU. Having held positions at University of Oslo, TU Wien, and University of Liverpool, he joined the Institute in 2020.  Paul is a leading scholar in applied probability and mathematical finance. His research is among others concerned with term structure models for fixed-income and energy markets, Heath Jarrow Morton models for volatility surfaces and on insurance mathematics and pension systems. Moreover, he is interested in applications of machine learning to mathematical finance. Paul's research combines high-level theoretical analysis with interesting numerical work.
