Position at IIB, other positions and academic career

Petra joined the Institute for International Business as the Office Manager of Team Fisch in June 2022. In addition to her organisational tasks, she is involved in various research projects of the team and introduces students in the Bachelor's programme to the Standards of Academic Writing and Citation.

She holds a Master's Degree in Contemporary History and Media, and a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology, both from the University of Vienna. Her Master's Thesis "Natur im Spiegel. Die Darstellung von Umweltthemen auf den Titelseiten des Nachrichtenmagazins Der Spiegel von 1947 bis 2022" ("Nature in Der Spiegel. The representation of environmental issues on the cover pages of the news magazine Der Spiegel from 1947 to 2022") earned her the Young Scientist Award of the Austrian Political Science Association in 2024.

Beyond her academic pursuits, Petra has a diverse professional background, both employed and self-employed. She has undergone training as a Trainer in Adult Education (ISO 17024), as a Systemic Coach, and as a Graphic Designer. Her career spans roles in advertising, marketing, public relations, graphic design, and management, equipping her with a broad skill set and a unique perspective that she brings to her current role.
