About the program

The VC Analyst Program is WU Vienna’s selective, practice-based fellowship designed to build the next generation of venture capital talent.

Why does the program exist?

The program was created to close a clear gap at WU: although the university produces outstanding analytical and strategic talent, students rarely gain real investment experience, direct exposure to founders, or insight into venture capital decision-making during their studies. The VC Analyst Program changes that.

Embedded directly within WU Ignite Ventures, the university’s own pre-seed investment company, the program gives students unparalleled access to real deals, portfolio support, and live investment processes. Participants learn venture capital by doing venture capital: scouting outlier founders, running due diligence, preparing investment memos, and joining Investment Committee discussions alongside investors.

Who stands behind the program?

Behind the program stands WU Ignite Ventures, the investment arm of WU Vienna. Our mission is to identify, fund, and accelerate high-potential startups emerging from the WU ecosystem and to develop the talent that will shape the future of European venture investing. Through the VC Analyst Program, we bring together academic rigor, real transaction experience, and deep ecosystem access to create a world-class training ground for emerging VC talent.

At its core, the program is built to give WU’s most driven students what the ecosystem needs most: early, structured, and meaningful exposure to live venture capital investing.
