Study on the Impacts of Youth Colleges Presented at the 9th Annual Migration Research Conference

The joint study by the Center for NPO & Social Impact and the Research Institute for Migration and Refugee Studies and Management (FORM) examines the impacts of the Vienna Youth Colleges on education, social networks, and the transition to the labor market. The Youth Colleges offer intensive educational programs focusing on German language learning, basic education, and labor market-relevant skills. The results show that these programs create important foundations for further educational and employment opportunities, especially for refugees with limited prior education. Both the development of educational capital and the expansion of German-speaking social networks play a crucial role.

The presentation of our study also provided an opportunity to discuss the findings together and explore exciting perspectives. Additionally, the other contributions at the conference offered us valuable insights and led to stimulating conversations and discussions.
