In an interdisciplinary panel, they examined the economic and partially business aspects of music therapy. Both the existing literature and the questions from participants clearly indicate that there is a need for more bridge-building in this area. While there are good RCT studies and a lot of evidence regarding the effectiveness of music therapy, there are hardly any studies that demonstrate economic effects or social impact. The interest of the professional audience in these topics is as high as in very specific business and management issues. The well-attended main performance hall of the Hamburg University of Music and Theater also provided a wonderful setting for this session.
