Curriculum Vitae

Dr. Stefan Herytash is Assistant Professor at the Institute for Strategy, Technology and Organization.

His research lies at the intersection of strategic management, operations research, and game theory. He develops formal and simulation-based models to analyze strategic interactions, technological transformation, and organizational decision processes. His work combines theoretical modeling with the analysis of large-scale firm and platform datasets.

Stefan Herytash studied mathematics at TU Vienna as well as at ETH Zurich and the University of Zurich. He received his doctorate (Dr.oec.publ.) with summa cum laude from LMU Munich. His dissertation, “Homo Ex Machina: Simulating Human Decision-Making with Large Language Models,” examines the simulation of human decision-making using large language models.

He welcomes collaborations with scholars and industry partners. He is particularly interested in data-intensive research projects, the development of formal strategic models, and access to unique firm-level datasets.
