„Innovation in International Business”

21/11/2022

The Competence Center for Emerging Markets & CEE would like to invite you to an online book presentation "Innovation in International Business” on December 1, 18:00 - 19:30.

The Research Handbook on Innovation in International Business, published by Edward Elgar Publishing and edited by Desislava Dikova and Edith Ipsmiller, covers topics such as firms’ innovative activities across borders, the geographic location of innovation, the role of alliances and networks on innovation and the impact of the internet on managing innovations, among others.

Our invited speakers are contributing authors to this research handbook. They will present their respective chapters, covering a range of contemporary topics, which we hope will stimulate an interesting discussion.

Edith Ipsmiller (Assistant Professor at WU Wien) will discuss the role of the internet in the internationalization activities of firms, highlighting its relevance for different types of firms operating in diverse contexts.

Samppa Kamara (Researcher at the University of Oulu) will present insightful ideas about a specific type of innovation in the construction industry, carried out by a Finnish family-owned, micro enterprise, which offers affordable housing and construction solutions in Zambia.

Ernest Jedrzejewski (Senior legal counsel at Amgen) will focus on the question whether EU and its regulatory peculiarities is a driving or inhibiting force to innovation in the global pharmaceutical industry.

Presentations and the discussion will be moderated by Desislava Dikova, Professor of International Business at WU Wien.
We look forward to an interesting event on the topic of innovations in international business.
