The Department of Economics is currently inviting applications for two 30 hours/week Teaching and Research Associate positions (pre-doc)

The successful candidates will be located at the Department of Economics and be part of a team of researchers. This call is open to all fields in economics, but the Department intends to cover in particular the following areas: Labor Economics, International Economics, Macroeconomics, and Public and Behavioral Economics.

Your responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities of the successful applicants include research, teaching, and administrative tasks. You will conduct independent research pursuing a PhD degree in Economics (“Focus Economics”). Strong dedication to writing a PhD dissertation, following doctoral courses and attending seminars is expected. Your profile
We are looking for applicants with a strong academic record, who have completed a relevant Master degree (MSc or equivalent) or who expect to have completed it by summer 2019. Research interest in one of the above-mentioned areas is an asset. Excellent command of oral and written English is a prerequisite; because of the departmental teaching portfolio, German is required for some of the positions.

Applicants are requested to upload the following documents along with their application:
- CV (incl. degrees, current position, research interests)
- Motivation letter (incl. Possible Dissertation project)
- Master thesis (or research proposal for master thesis)

In addition, we ask for two letters of recommendation. Applicants are responsible for asking their reference persons to send their letters to econ-office@wu.ac.at in due time (max. within one week after the application has been received).

The minimum gross monthly salary is € 2,148.38 (paid 14 times per year), subject to adjustment if candidates can document relevant prior professional experience.

This employee position will be limited to a period of five years, starting on September 01, 2019 (commencement date subject to change).

If you are interested in a job with diverse responsibilities in a pleasant, stimulating work environment, please submit your application until June 05, 2019 (ID 219).

We are looking forward to hearing from you!
