Position at IIB, other positions and academic career

Lucas joined the Institute for International Business as a research and teaching
associate in April 2025.

He obtained his bachelor’s degree in Hamburg (Germany) and Milan (Italy) and completed his master’s studies at WU Vienna. Before starting his PhD, Lucas worked in management consulting as part of the Strategy, Analytics & M&A team. In this role, he advised Austrian industrial companies on strategic initiatives, including digitalization, post-merger integration, internationalization, and performance management.

Research interest

Lucas’s research interests lie in the internationalization of service firms, their entry mode choices, and approaches to mitigating market failure.
