LawGov’s Birgit Hollaus has been accepted into the Visiting Researcher Programme at the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights at the University of Oxford. During Oxford’s Trinity Term 2026, she will conduct research on climate litigation, regional human rights systems, and the role of judicial dialogue in addressing emerging human rights challenges, including the development of climate rights.

Focusing on the African human rights system, her project examines how judicial dialogue operates in practice within its normative framework and how it enables courts to navigate tensions between universalism, regionalism, and distinctiveness.
