About

Anthony Copnall has been employed as a lecturer at the Institute for English Business Communication since 2002. He is a trained modern linguist, and gained a joint BA (Hons) degree in German and Scandinavian Studies at the University of Hull, for which his studies included a year spent at the University of Uppsala in Sweden. After completing his PGCE (Post-graduate Certificate in Education) at the University of Leeds he began his teaching career at secondary school level in the UK. He also holds a Master’s degree in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) from the Institute of Education, University of London, as part of which he conducted research on the quality of students’ academic writing in English.

Anthony Copnall teaches a range of English Business Communication courses both in WU’s Undergraduate programmes and at Master’s level. Further professional activities include planning and running continuing-education courses and workshops in a wide range of academic, business and other professional contexts, including teacher training.
