The Seminar focuses on current topics in Accounting and Taxation. Participants will learn how to formulate and answer a research question based on existing literature. The main goal of the course is to research, write and present a small research paper. The course will prepare the participants for their future work on a bachelor or master thesis. The Seminar will be held in cooperation with EY. Leading experts in Tax, Accounting and Audit practice will join the seminar and provide the students with input.

Regelung zur Anwesenheit: | ||
Students are required to attend all sessions in order to pass the course. The introduction session of the course including the allocation of the topics for the seminar papers will be held on March 6, 2024 during the class of Course III ("International Tax Strategy") The mid-term meeting, which will include a presentation of the concept for the seminar paper will be held on April 17, 2024 during the class of Course III ("International Tax Strategy") The presentations of the seminar papers will be held on June 18, 2024, 9:00-12:00 at the premises of EY (IZD Tower - Wagramer Str. 19, 1220 Wien) |

Lehr-/Lerndesign: | ||
The students will be assigned a current topic in accounting, auditing and taxation at the beginning of the semester. The task of the students is to research the topic and write a short paper. The instructor will provide feedback during the research / writing process. At the end of the semester the papers will be presented and discussed The use of ChatGPT or comparable instruments is not recommended due to the high probability of errors (especially with current tax issues). If for the creation of the seminar paper ChatGPT or comparable instruments are used, it must be disclosed in the seminar work (cover sheet or first page) for which working steps exactly AI was used. In case a seminar paper is plagiarized, the paper as well as the course will be graded negatively.
