This Seminar Course deals with speical topics in Operations Management. It shall support you in the process of academic writing, be it seminar papers, bachelor theses or master theses.
The following information is relevant for students of the Specialization in Supply Chain and Operations Management in the BBE: We will provide you with some ideas for deepening your knowledge in the manifold field of Operations Management. In the course of this lecture, you will then create your own seminar paper, thereby learning and appling the basic rules of academic writing.
The following information is relevant for students of the SBWL Production Management in BaWiSo: As soon as you have received a topic for your bachelor thesis from the Institute for Production Management, we highly recommend taking this course a free elective. In this course, we will guide and support you in the process of creating your bachelor thesis and give you the opportunity to receive feedback on a regular basis. |

Lernergebnisse (Learning Outcomes): | ||
After successful completion of the seminar, you should be able to critically evaluate and discuss published results from the literature. Furthermore, you should have acquired the skills to write an academic paper of high quality and to effectively present your work |

Regelung zur Anwesenheit: | ||
This course is designed as a Research Seminar. Hence, most of the work is done by yourself (writing the paper / thesis). This is why, presenece time is reduced in comparison to a "classic" course. There are only three sessions, in which you do presentations, see below. Attendance is reqiured in all three sessions. |

Lehr-/Lerndesign: | ||
We will have three sessions (see dates above), where you present the status of your seminar paper / bachelor thesis.

Leistung(en) für eine Beurteilung: | ||
For each presentation you will receive points on different areas, e.g. background information given, selected research method, strucutre and organization of the presentation, language etc. The proposal presentation accounts for 30%, the intermediate presentation for 20% and the final presentation and results of the research project will account for 50%. Grading scale:

For BBE Students: You have successfully applied to the Specialization in Supply Chain and Operations Management (SCOM).
For BaWiSo Students: You have been accepted in the SBWL Production Management and you already received a Bachelor's Thesis Topic from the Institute for Production Management. |
