This course addresses Ph.D. students with no formal education or background in business or economics. Its main goal is to provide them with a general overview of the field of business administration, its main subfields, and the contemporary phenomena it is confronted with. Furthermore, it attempts to help PhD students develop a business vocabulary to communicate effectively in both practitioner and scholarly domains of business and management.

The course will be taught in a flexible hybrid mode combining in-person with online synchronous lecture sessions. Course participants are required to attend and actively participate in classes. For online-synchronous lecture sessions, course participants need to make sure to have a proper internet connection during course hours.

Course participants will be assessed on a dychotomous scale (pass / fail) based on their regularly attendance in and active participation during lecture sessions.
