Lernergebnisse (Learning Outcomes):

Course participants will learn to

  • Understand the relationship between economic, social and biophysical systems;
  • Appreciate the interdisciplinary approach to the analysis of environmental issues;
  • Become familiar with the analysis of energy and material flows in the economy;
  • Understand the ethical, social and behavioural foundations of human well-being;
Regelung zur Anwesenheit:

80% compulsory attendance

one class can be missed without negatively affecting the grade

please inform the lecturers beforhand in case you cannot attend a class

Lehr-/Lerndesign:
  • Short theoretical inputs given by lecturers
  • Group presentations based on selected readings
  • Group discussion led by students
  • In-class group work
  • Discussion of videos, news articles, online material
Leistung(en) für eine Beurteilung:
  • Exam (70%)
  • Group assignments (20%)
  • Class participation (10%)
Teilnahmevoraussetzung(en):

If you have a valid registration for the lecture, but will not participate, please deregister during the registration period of LPIS. Your place will be available for other students.

During the registration period, free places are filled according to the “first-come, first-served” principle. After the end of the registration period, the number of places is increased and students on the waiting list will be registered for the lecture. Students in the BBE-program will be added first, should places remain, they will be filled by BaWiSo-students based on their progress in their studies.
