Outsourcing strategies and cloud computing promise cost savings and scalable solutions but there are also costs and risks for the organization like loss of human capital and specific knowledge, questions of data protection or security issues just to mentions some aspects which need in depth analysis. We will also discuss security threats in a business environment from the perspective of a CISO who has to balance business requirements, innovation and security and has to understand possibilities and limitations of technology.

| In this course students learn to look at typical business decisions from a holistic approach rather than focusing only on technical details. They will develop an understanding for challenges in procurement decisions and security issues as an integrated part of all kind of projects Case studies will focus on topics like cloud computing, intrusion detection/prevention,mobile devices and BYOD and will be discussed and analyzed on criteria like:

Attendance in the first unit is mandatory (unqualified absence will result in deregistration from the course).
