Inhalte der LV:

This course serves as a plattform to discuss current 'hot' topics on the interface between (digital) marketing and data science. It complements and completes the specialization (SBWL) "Digital Marketing" and aims to illustrate and support the transfer of conceptual basic knowledge acquired in the SBWL's core courses into corporate practice. This includes interactions and discussions with practitioners, some of them are offered in German language. An overview of previous sessions you find here.

Lernergebnisse (Learning Outcomes):

As part of the discussion with our guests from corporate practice, we focus, among other things, on answering the following questions:

  • How is your business positioned within the marketing and competitive environment?
  • What is the USP or core benefit of your business model?
  • How sustainable is this value proposition for long-term corporate success?
  • Who are competitors? What is the innovation?
  • How could the business idea be "disrupted" - where is there potential for danger?
Regelung zur Anwesenheit:

Participation is highly recommended for students of the SBWL digital marketing!

Lehr-/Lerndesign:

Presentations and interactive discussions with experts and marketing practitioners.

Leistung(en) für eine Beurteilung:

Course type is "AG" - i.e., there will be no evaluation in terms of gradings (credits as a free elective is therefore not possible). Successful participation will be confirmed if the following requirements are met:

  • Registration and active participation in all units
  • Submission of a reflection paper, which contains a 1.5 to 2-page summary of the content for each talk. This summary should reflect the core statements of the respective presentation and discussion as well as discuss any open questions and implications for your own work (e.g. bachelor thesis, core courses, etc.). The paper must be sent to digital.marketing@wu.ac at no later than one week after the last unit.
