This course covers two different types of business projects with two great partners. The project will run totally independently of each other. Capgemini Invent The Impact of Generative AI on the People Experience This Business Project represents a very interesting opportunity to work with Capgemini Invent, one of the most prolific Innovation Consultancy Groups, to determine how the application of Generative AI impacts the employee experience. We will specifically focus on the employee lifecycle within a company, starting from the recruiting process and ending with an eventual offboarding. Generative AI is one of the biggest game changers in the organizational landscape through its ability to create and improve. Students are asked to combine their experiences and knowledge, Capgemini Invent’s expertise about the topics of Generative AI and workforce strategy, and theoretical as well as empirical data they collect throughout the project. The objective is to identify phases within the employee lifecycle where Generative AI can be applied beneficially and how this would impact the employee experience in the respective organizations. Moreover, the results of the Business Project should show how organizations need to prepare themselves to facilitate this transformation successfully.
CEMS WU Managing the Media Are you interested in an international project that focuses on social media marketing - a key topic for many businesses in the future? In this Business Project, you solve a strategic problem proposed by one of the leading MSc programs in Management in Europe: "CEMS at WU Wien"! You will be supervised by ex-CEMSie Lisa Hutterer who is a Social Media Strategist with lots of experience at the intersection of Strategic Management and Social Media Management. Social Media Strategies are becoming increasingly important for attracting, retaining, and engaging with customers. This is also true for CEMS@WU! CEMS@WU wants to assess how to further develop and deliver their Social Media Strategy. The ultimate goal is to improve the program's positioning in Austria as well as in selected target countries and to attract more top-notch students in the future. You will work with CEMS representatives, the WU Central Marketing unit, and the CCV in Austria but also abroad. By conducting interviews and executing an in-depth competitor analysis, you and your team will develop relevant social media channels, create content pillars, concrete content ideas, and an eventual editorial plan. Through the project, you will contribute to both the visibility of the CEMS Global Alliance and the CEMS@WU program specifically. You will get hands-on learnings from Lisa, who will not only guide you through the project, but also provide you with input and content regarding up-to-date social media strategies. Learnings that you can also leverage in all other BtC contexts.

Lehr-/Lerndesign: | ||
This business project uses a combination of discussions with company representatives and external solution providers, feedback sessions, presentations, group coaching, as well as individual/group work outside the classroom. Groups of students will be formed before the kick-off session. In a first kick-off session with the supervising faculty, the challenges and milestones of the case will be outlined. At the same time, students will be familiarized with the guiding principles of project work, with the project plan and rules in handling the supervising faculty/ company interaction. Afterward, the students will officially kick-off the project in collaboration with their company. In a plenary session, the company will outline the challenges from their perspective and provide useful input for the project (e.g., experience on former, related projects) and the specific challenges to be dealt with. As a result of that, students will come up with the precise scope of the project. Subsequently, the students will receive information on the tools and will start the collaboration with the company. Throughout the process, various feedback loops (in coaching and feedback sessions with the faculty and/or the company) will be installed to make sure that students are on the right track and get relevant input needed in each project phase. Results will be presented to company managers at the midterm and end of this process. The verbal and printed presentations will be assessed. Students will have to actively participate in class, hold group presentations and summarize their findings in a final report (final presentation document). It is the policy of the class that no late assignments will be accepted under any circumstances. As this course format heavily relies on personal interaction between students, company and faculty, presence in sessions is mandatory. More than two times absence during the sessions announced at the beginning of the seminar will lead to exclusion from the seminar. |
