Inhalte der LV:

In this course, the essence of supply chain management in the success of a business is emphasized, and it aims to provide the students with a good understanding of developing and managing supply chains in line with the needs of the business.

The course starts with the basics of supply chain management, giving first-hand experience of inter-relational behavior in supply chains. Then, prerequisites and goals to configure and analyze supply chains will be discussed, including supply chain strategy, planning, and controlling. The course concludes with recent supply chain trends and best practices for supply chain management in tough times.

Current trends and innovations are discussed with the students to ensure up-to-date business insights are given.

Lernergebnisse (Learning Outcomes):

After the completion of this course, the students will:

  • be able to comprehend the key concepts of supply chain management in the practical world and their correlation with business strategy and operations of companies.
  • learn to identify the competitive advantages that can be derived from superior supply chain management.
  • be well versed with supply chain management best practices and obtain an acumen to plan, design, and configure an efficient supply chain network.
Regelung zur Anwesenheit:

Mandatory attendance of at least 4 out of 6 teaching units must be adhered.

Leistung(en) für eine Beurteilung:

The course’s final grade is determined by evaluating the student’s performance in the following activities:

  • Assignments and Case Studies: 40%
  • Written exam: 60%

Point 1: A positive grade (>40%) in the final written exam is necessary to complete this course.

Point 2: Grading scale.

Excellent (1): 90% - 100%,
Good (2): 75% - <90%,
Satisfactory (3): 62.5% - <75%,
Sufficient (4): 50% - <62.5%,
Fail (5): <50.0%
