Lehr-/Lerndesign:

CLASS FORMAT

Classes will be interactive. The principle teaching methods used in class meetings are lectures, group presentations and case discussions. All students are expected to read the assigned articles and cases prior to the sessions in which they are to be covered (see class schedule) and to contribute to class discussion.

Class attendance is mandatory. To pass the course you are not allowed to miss more than 20% of class time. In case you cannot participate, please inform the instructor before your absence.

Leistung(en) für eine Beurteilung:

GRADING

The course grade will be determined as follows:

  • Case reports/presentations: 45%
  • Group project “Competitive strategy of a successful CEE firm”:  40%
  • Peer rating of group work: 10%
  • Active individual in-class participation: 5%

As a basic principle, all group reports receive one grade. I expect that each group member contributes equally to the preparation of the research project, case reports and presentations. Anyhow, there will be a peer-rating included in the assessment of the individual performance.

In order to assess the individual in-class participation I will check the number and quality of posts via the chat function and verbal contributions during the classes, thereby using the following indicative scheme:  5 pts. = above average, 3 pts. = average, 1-0 = below average/non existing.

Grading scheme: 0-59 = 5; 60-65 = 4; 66-75 = 3; 76-85 = 2; 86-100 = 1.

Teilnahmevoraussetzung(en):

This course is exclusively offered to students of the Master Class CEE 2023-24.
