Second WU Symposium on International Business Communication

LINGUISTIC APPROACHES TO INTERCULTURAL BUSINESS COMMUNICATION

June 11/12, 2009

WU Vienna University of Economics and Business

Building UZA1, Grosser Sitzungssaal

Our aim is to bring together scholars working on different languages in the field of intercultural business communication. Participants are encouraged to present issues relating to any language and country, but to do so in a manner comprehensible to colleagues unfamiliar with the language and country concerned or active in another discipline. The term "intercultural business communication" is to be given a broad interpretation. However, in order to attract interest across disciplinary boundaries, contributions should transcend individual languages and specific problems.

The symposium will consist of three sections on (1) theoretical, (2) methodological and (3) applied issues of intercultural business communication. It will be closed by a panel discussion that brings together scholar and practitioners.
